Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Hiring and Onboarding

We are sharing a practical guide on equity, diversity, and inclusion in hiring and onboarding to support sites as they continue their hiring processes. In alignment with YWHO's goal of equitable access, experiences, quality of care and outcome for all youth, it is critical that candidates and YWHO staff are diverse and possess a solid understanding of person-centred care and anti-oppressive practice.

This practical resource includes:
1. Concrete Actions to Overcome Bias During Each Stage of Hiring: Preparation, Screening, Interviewing, and Onboarding
2. Suggested Interview Questions and Criteria for Identifying Anti-Oppressive and Anti-Racist Background and Experience in Candidates
3. Tips for Promotion and Outreach in Smaller and/or Northern Communities
4. Types of Bias in Hiring
5. The SPACE2 Model for Interrupting Bias

We are sharing it now given its relevance in supporting hiring of the Youth Wellness Teams; please share this guide with staff involved in hiring and onboarding at your sites.
