Definition:
The client's length of stay/treatment/service in a substance abuse or problem gambling program.
Guide for Use:
LOS (length of stay/service) in Days = Program Start Date - Program End Date + 1
Context:
Is used in conjunction with the data elements Total Direct Service Time, Total Indirect Service Time and Total Sessions, to give an indication of the intensity of service provided by agencies. Used for treatment costing as well as monitoring and evaluating treatment outcomes.
