When you want to setup/ add/ edit/ delete user privileges in Catalyst. You must be a Catalyst Administrator to access/ update privileges for other users at their agency. 

Access to most Catalyst System Modules can be set to: "Can View, Can Edit, Can Delete, Author" existing records. The areas of Catalyst where an Agency Administrator has control on user access are:

  • Activity Log
  • Referrals
  • Programs
  • Activities

Note: the following are the Catalyst System Modules: Client, Admission, Program, Referrals, Incoming Referrals, Outgoing Referrals, Discharge, Wait List, Groups, Administration

Note: Administrators cannot give access to Catalyst reports. Catalyst report access can only be set up by DATIS Help Desk. 

Step-by-step guide

  1.  Log in to Catalyst > Admin > User Profile 

  2. This will take you to the User Maintenance Screen, here you can search for the user you wish to set up privileges for. You can search by First name, Last name, email or simply by clicking on Search (for a complete list of your agency's users). 
  3. Once you have found the user, click on the hyperlinked name (shown under User ID) of the account you wish to set up privileges for.

  4. On the Edit User screen click on User Privileges at the bottom of the screen. 



  5. Check off all items you wish to provide access for and uncheck any you wish to deny access for. Please note that System Modules access is at the bottom of the screen. 



  6. Click on Save at the bottom of the page to update privileges. 
  7. Click on Cancel at the bottom of the Edit User screen to exit this module.

Note: To update your own user privileges go to Admin > User Profile > Edit/View User Info. This will take you to the Edit User screen. At the bottom of this screen click on User Privileges. This will take you to the User Privileges screen, where you can edit your own privileges. 

Note: If a new program or activity is created you must go into the profile of each user who will need access & give them access individually.
