How to Record Naloxone Distribution and Training using the Naloxone Module

In the 'Naloxone' module under the (**Required Questions**) section, this is the only data that will be used to populate the Ontario Naloxone Program Quarterly Reporting Form. Users will be able to capture naloxone data that pertains to 'Injectable Naloxone Distributed', 'Nasal Spray Naloxone Distributed' and 'Individuals Trained'.

Please refer to the Naloxone Module User Guide for instructions on how to enter data into the Naloxone Module.

Data entry

The 'Naloxone' module is completely anonymous and is not associated with any client reference codes or demographic information.

Click on the question header to expand each data entry field below. Users will be able to record the quantity for each question as single or bulk entries (e.g., 40 nasal spray naloxone kits distributed, 35 individuals trained).

  • Service providers keep track of how much naloxone they distribute, etc. throughout a given time period, and can enter the totals of that activity into NEO all at once as a bulk entry. Totals can be entered periodically (e.g. monthly), or at least once a quarter. Naloxone distribution, kits and training are recorded in the same form.

Fire, Police and St. John Ambulance

Fire, Police and St. John Ambulance organizations will have their own data entry screen in the Naloxone module, with only the following question:

i) Number of Overdoses where First Responders Administered Naloxone

Not Required Section

Naloxone data entered in the NEP module will not be rolled up into the ONP Quarterly Report.  Users should not enter naloxone data in the NEP module or bulk entry modules. Questions in the Not Required section in the 'Naloxone' module will reflect pre-standardized questions, which may vary across sites.
