Selecting a county in Catalyst
The county search is displayed in a separate window, in what we will call the County Search Result List window. Sometimes this window may be accidentally "minimized" or placed behind the Catalyst screen. The following instructions will help reduce any problems associated with this feature
- On the Client Information screen enter the city of the client's residence then single-click on the Search button beside the field.
If you are not sure of the spelling of city, type only the first few letters of the city name and do your search. - The results will display any matching entries beginning with those letters. The county search results will appear in a new window:
- In the search results window, under the Select column, click the county you wish to select. Note: If the client comes from out-of-Province, type the province name into the City field and you will be provided with selections in the County field.
- Click the Search button at the bottom of the screen. The window will close and the County field on the Client Information screen will be populated with your selection.
When the Search Results List doesn't appear
If you don't see the Search Results List window try the following:
- Look at the status bar that appears at the bottom of your screen.
- If a button appears there with the label "Catalyst - County Search..." click on it and the Search Results List window should pop up on your screen.
When the County doesn't appear in the search results
- If the county you're looking for doesn't appear in the Search Results List window, exit the Search Results window to return to the Catalyst window.
- Change the data in the City field (i.e. check the spelling). Remember: If you are not sure of the spelling of city, type only the first few letters of the city name and do your search. The results will display any matching entries beginning with those letters. You can also do an online search for the City to obtain the correct spelling.
- Try your search again.
When county or city name is not recognized in Catalyst
If, after following the instructions above you are still unable to find your city, a designated CSA can submit an issue to DATIS Helpdesk requesting that the City/County be added. Please provide DATIS with the city name and the name of the county in which the city is located. DATIS will add it to the database if applicable. This process takes about a week, as the spelling of the city must be verified.
