All agencies that are mandated to adopt the Ontario Harm Reduction Database are expected to use the client reference code system. Satellite sites/community partner sites for NEP/NSP are not, at this time, required to adopt the client reference code system unless they are specifically mandated to adopt the ONHRDB (e.g. AIDS Service Organizations and Hep C Teams).
Can my agency use a different client reference code?
To use NEO, the client reference code must include a gender, 4-letters, and any number between 1901 - present. Your agency may have more exact instructions regarding how to choose the client reference code.
Transitioning to a new client reference code format can be difficult, so service providers should feel comfortable using the Anonymous button until they are confident that the codes they are receiving from clients is legitimate.
