User passwords can be reset from the Catalyst login page.

Accounts that expire will not be locked out. Expired users will need to update their password before they can proceed with any other work in Catalyst. For confidentiality purposes DATIS does not need to be informed of any password changes. Passwords should never be written down, saved on your computer or shared with other staff at your agency.

Steps to reset password:

  1. Select the 'Forgot your password' link on the Catalyst login page.
  2. Enter the following information in the pop-up box:
    1. Catalyst User ID
    2. Agency Connex Number
    3. Valid Email Address associated with your account.
  3. Catalyst will then validate the information.
    1. If your information doesn't match our records, you will need to contact your Catalyst System Administrator for assistance.
  4. If the validation is successful, Catalyst will send you a password rest email.  The password reset link is only valid for 30 minutes.

    Tip

Check your junk or spam folder if you don't receive the email in your inbox.

  5. Open the link to the validation email and provide the following information:

    1. Catalyst User ID
    2. Agency Connex Number
    3. Valid Email Address associated with your account
  6. With 7 unsuccessful attempts by using incorrect information Catalyst will lock your account.  You will need to wait 30 minutes before you can try again. You can also contact your Catalyst System Administrator for assistance.
  7. The new password can be created once Catalyst re-confirms your credentials.

Tips for Creating a Strong Password

  1. Make your password easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to guess.
  2. Include a combination of upper and lower case characters (e.g. a-z, A-Z).
  3. Include digits and punctuation characters (e.g. 0-9,! @#$%^&*()_+=||\).
  4. Do not use names of personal information such as pets, friends or birthdays.
  5. Avoid word or number patterns like aaabbb, qwerty, zyxwvuts, 123456, etc.
  6. Select a unique password. One way to do this is create a password based on a song title, expression or other phrase. For example, the phrase might be: “I love Paris in the Springtime”: ILP*inTST. For example, your favorite food: “Rice and Raisin Pudding”: R!cNR!Pud
  7. Create a password that contains at least one number, a combination of upper and lower alphabets, and at least one special character (other than space and quotes) and is between 8-15 characters long. Enter it into the New Password field. Re-type this password in the Confirm Password field.
